The integrity of the Leinster club IFC was damaged last weekend when St Martin's opted not to field their dual stars against Tubberclair.
With all their focus clearly being on winning the Leinster club SHC title, the Wexford club travelled to St Loman's 3G pitch in Mullingar on Saturday with only 18 players and rested their 10 dual players for the quarter-final. There were duly beaten by 2-27 to 0-1 after trailing by 2-16 to 0-0 at half-time.
The game was of little benefit to either side and only time will tell if St Martin's decision was vindicated. Their dual stars will be back in action this Sunday when they face Kildare champions Naas at Chadwicks Wexford Park for a place in the Leinster club SHC final against either Ballyhale Shamrocks or Clough/Ballacolla.
