Dublin’s Hannah Tyrrell named as 2025 TG4 Senior Players’ Player of the Year
Dublin star Hannah Tyrrell was named as the 2025 TG4 Senior Players’ Player of the Year at the annual TG4 All Star banquet, in association with Lidl, at The Bonnington Dublin Hotel on Saturday night.
The coveted individual accolade capped a memorable night for the 35-year-old Na Fianna player, who also collected a third TG4 All-Star award to add to her previous successes in 2021 and 2023.
Tyrrell enjoyed a remarkable season for the Sky Blues, with her attacking endeavours earning her the ZuCar Golden Boot award as top scorer across the junior, Intermediate and senior grades in the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Championships.
In the wake of Dublin’s TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship win, Tyrrell, who scored 6-28 in the All-Ireland series, announced her retirement from inter-county football.
"This is the accumulation of all the girls and the management, I can't do it all by myself"

The two-time TG4 All-Ireland Senior medallist is currently recovering from surgery on a knee injury sustained in the final victory over Meath on August 3.
Tyrrell, who scored 0-5 in the showpiece Brendan Martin Cup decider at Croke Park, held off stiff competition from Dublin team-mate Kate Sullivan and Galway’s Olivia Divilly to win the Senior Players’ Player of the Year award, which was voted for by fellow inter-county players.
The 2025 TG4 Intermediate Players’ Player of the Year award, meanwhile, went to Tyrone ace Sorcha Gormley.
From the Charraig Mhór Naomh Colmcille club, Gormley scored a remarkable tally of 6-14 along the way as Tyrone claimed the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate title in 2025.
Her display against Laois in the TG4 All-Ireland Final also earned Gormley the Player of the Match award.
Gormley landed the Intermediate Players’ Player of the Year award ahead of Tyrone team-mate Aoife Horisk and former winner Sarah Dillon from Westmeath.
All three nominees were recently named on the 2025 TG4 Intermediate Team of the Championship.
And for the second time, Louth’s Kate Flood was honoured as the TG4 Junior Players’ Player of the Year.
The St Patrick’s player was a previous recipient in 2018 and her tally of 3-28 in the All-Ireland series earned her the nod from her peers once again.
Flood’s team-mate Céire Nolan, Player of the Match in the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Junior Final, was also nominated for the Junior Players’ Player of the Year award, along with Antrim’s Theresa Mellon.

All three players were recently named on the 2025 TG4 Junior Team of the Championship.
Earlier in the evening, Cork legend Juliet Murphy was officially inducted into the LGFA Hall of Fame.
Murphy won eight TG4 All-Ireland senior medals and six TG4 All-Ireland awards during a glittering playing career that also saw her named as Senior Players’ Player of the Year in 2011.
In addition, Juliet was a two-time All-Ireland Senior club winner with Donoughmore in 2001 and 2003.
