Dunloy reached their second Antrim senior football championship final in three years thanks to a 0-18 to 1-10 victory against Portglenone last night.

Chasing their first county SFC success since 1936, Dunloy produced a superb second-half display in Dunsilly to get over the line as they now await tomorrow’s winners between holders Cargin and Creegan Kickhams (4pm) in the final.

Dunloy had held a 0-7 to 0-4 advantage after the opening 25 minutes but John McKeever’s side recorded the next two scores through Paddy Kelly (two-pointer) and Michael Hagan to leave it ‘honours even’ at the break.

The victors upped it a gear in the second-half however, with dual stars Keelan Molloy and Seaan Elliott very much to the fore for them as they finished with 0-15 between them.

The duo landed the first two points of the restart and Dunloy kept their foot on the throttle with back-to-back two-pointers sailing over.

Daniel McNicholl grabbed a goal in the closing quarter for Portglenone but their opponents never panicked as more two-pointers from Elliott and Molloy saw them safely over the line into the county final.
