Armagh ace Conor Turbitt says the All-Ireland champions are in need of another win from their last two Allianz League games in order to ensure Division 1 survival.
The Orchard men’s eight-point win over Dublin last weekend saw them moving up to fourth in the table on five points; a tally which Mayo also hold while Kerry are on four points, Tyrone on three and Derry just one.
Next up for Kieran McGeeney’s side is a trip to Tralee on Saturday week and, speaking to media after his team’s win over the Dubs, Turbitt said he isn’t sure that five points will be enough to guarantee topflight status again next year.
“It feels good to get the win. We need another one coming in,” he is quoted saying by BelfastLive.co.uk.
“Our fans follow us home and away. Even when we were warming up, the Dubs were behind the goals and we knew it was going to be some atmosphere.
“Whenever they got their leg up, their fans started to come in and we went through a bit of a rough patch. We steadied the ship and, thankfully got over the line.
“I don’t know (if five points will be enough) - I think we might need another win coming in.”
