Clare and Cork dominate The Sunday Game Hurling Team of the Year.

Newly-crowned All-Ireland champions Clare have seven players included, namely Adam Hogan, Conor Leen, David McInerney, Tony Kelly, David Fitzgerald, Mark Rodgers and Shane O'Donnell, who was also chosen as Hurler of the Year.

Six players from Cork made the team - Eoin Downey, Robert Downey, Darragh Fitzgibbon, Shane Barrett, Seamus Harnedy, and Brian Hayes.

Completing the selection were Limerick pair Nickie Quaid and Kyle Hayes. However, their team-mate Aaron Gillane was controversially omitted, while eyebrows were also raised at the absence of any Kilkenny player from the team as well as Clare's towering centre back John Conlon.
