Limerick midfielder Darragh O’Donovan will undergo surgery today to correct a thumb injury on his right hand.
The Doon clubman sustained the injury during Limerick’s Munster SHC semi-final win over Tipperary at the start of November and played through it as the Shannonsiders went on to lift their second Liam MacCarthy Cup in three seasons.
While he didn’t feature in the Munster final, O’Donovan would play in the All-Ireland semi-final and final victories over Galway and Waterford respectively.
Today’s surgery means he could be set to miss the start of the Treaty men’s Allianz League campaign which is sue to commence at the end of next month.
TweetAll in Doon GAA Would Like to Wish Darragh O'Donovan Who Goes For Surgery This Morning The Very Best Of Luck. We Wish Darragh a Speedy Recovery and We Look Forward to Seeing You Back Playing Again Once Fully Recovered.
