FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles is set to host the return of inter-provincial hurling next month, with Munster and Leinster due to meet on November 28th.

The Nenagh Guardian reports that the Saturday fixture will form part of the GAA's Hurling Expert Advisory Group's trial of proposed rule changes, with the game expected to be broadcast live on RTÉ.

A second semi-final between Connacht and Ulster is also being planned, with the venue yet to be confirmed.

Among the key changes being trialled are an increase from four to six steps while in possession, a ban on consecutive handpasses and the introduction of two points for a sideline cut struck cleanly over the bar.

The games will provide an opportunity to assess the proposed amendments and help shape the future direction of the rules in hurling.
