"I think there could be a surprise on the cards"

Two-time All-Ireland winner Michael Duignan says he thinks “there could be a surprise on the cards” when Galway meet Limerick in tomorrow’s Liam MacCarthy Cup decider.
Gunning for their first All-Ireland SHC title in nine years, the Tribesmen are 9/4 outsiders against the Shannonsiders (1/2) who are looking for what would be their sixth crown of the John Kiely area.
Speaking on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, Duignan says there could be an upset at Croke Park tomorrow.
"I said coming out of the Leinster final, 'there is something different about this Galway team’," said the Offaly legend.
"They won by 14 points that evening and had 11 different scorers. They demolished Cork by 11 points with 12 different scorers.
"The likes of Tom Monaghan and Conor Whelan scoring at will, Jason Rabbitte making a huge impact at full-forward.
"I think there could be a surprise on the cards. The hunger of Galway isn’t something you can quantify. It might just make a difference on a warm day in Croke Park."
