Cork qualified for the Munster MFC final with a round to spare after powering to a 3-18 to 1-14 victory over Kerry in last night's Phase 2 Round 2 clash at Austin Stack Park.

It was the Rebels' first time to defeat their old rivals in six attempts and they did so in style ahead of their final group match against Waterford next Monday. Boosted by an Eoghan Ahern goal, Keith Ricken's charges held a commanding 1-10 to 0-4 lead at the break which they extended to 1-14 to 0-5 10 minutes into the second half.

Marc Ó Sé’s Kerry side finally sparked into life with a goal from substitute Daithí Laide that helped to reduce the deficit to 1-7 to 1-14 after 45 minutes. But the visitors were just too good and responded with 1-1 from sub Riley O'Donovan before another replacement, Luke O'Neill, applied the coup de grace with a third major in stoppage-time.
