Limerick manager John Kiely has given a positive update on his side’s injury issues following their win against Cork over the weekend.
The Treaty men put one foot into the Allianz Hurling League Division 1A final thanks to Saturday night’s 3-19 to 0-20 win against Cork at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Speaking after his team’s victory, Kiely revealed that Darragh O'Donovan, Matthew Fitzgerald, Peter Casey and Eddie Stokes are all making progress on the injury front.
"We've been fortunate, Darragh got a nice bang on it (shoulder) alright, an AC joint but he has put in a tremendous amount of effort this week in terms of his rehab…we'd hope to see him back on the training pitch in a couple of weeks,” he is quoted saying by live95fm.ie.
“Peter, in a good place too will be back training next week and Matthew Fitzgerald, just a very minor injury as well, he'll be back in the next week of ten days and Dan Morrissey a very minor injury as well. Eddie Stokes, who had a major injury, he's nearly back as well."
He added: "The mood in the camp is obviously good, you can see it by the way they're hurling number one, which is the most important, they're enjoying their hurling and they've worked hard over those couple of months to make sure that they're in a position to do that.
“There's a nice mix of experienced players and young players breaking through and there's a very competitive element to the way that the group is evolving at the minute. I think once we get everybody back on the training pitch in the next few weeks which we will, it's going to make for an interesting couple of weeks."
