Kildare secured their Allianz Hurling League Division 1B status this afternoon by seeing off Carlow on a 3-22 to 1-19 scoreline at Cedral St Conleth's Park.
Minus the services of suspended ace Jack Sheridan, the Lilywhites booked a comfortable victory in this one as they dominated for large spells in the first-half to run up a 0-17 to 0-8 lead on their opponents.

David Qualter landed half a dozen frees for the hosts during that period while Paul Dolan and Muiris Curtin also raised white flags and Brian Dowling’s men would keep their foot on the throttle after the change of ends.
Dolan (2), Qualter and Curtin all landed points early in the resumption ahead of Daire Guerin netting the home side’s first goal on 38 minutes.
Cathal McCabe netted Kildare’s second goal six minutes and while Carlow would get a goal back through Paddy Boland in the 48th minute, the hosts’ dominance continued as Curtin bagged their third goal in the very next attack and three more frees from Qualter, who finished with 0-10, down the home stretch raised their tally to 3-22.
