The Kerry SFC quarter-final draw has thrown up a mouth-watering local derby between Dingle and their own divisional side West Kerry.

It comes after last year’s runners-up Dingle eased to a 2-19 to 1-13 opening round victory over Na Gaeil yesterday. County star Tom O’Sullivan returned from injury to score 1-2 for the winners, with Ned Ryan accounting for their other goal.

Mid Kerry, who dethroned Dr Crokes on Saturday night, have been paired with Spa after the latter saw off South Kerry by 3-18 to 3-13 yesterday. Rathmore, who received a bye into the quarter-finals along with West Kerry, will face the East Kerry district side, which they were a part of up until their promotion to the senior ranks three years ago.

The only all-club quarter-final tie sees Austin Stacks take on Kenmare Shamrocks, who accounted for North Kerry by 4-15 to 1-12 yesterday.

The quarter-finals will be played on the weekend of October 11 and 12, with days, times and venues to be confirmed by the CCC this week.
