London GAA has welcomed the opening of its first floodlit pitch at The Hazelwood Centre.

It means that London’s inter-county football and hurling teams will be able to play practice matches under lights for the first time at the home of London Irish RFC. London players already have access to a state-of-the-art gym at Hazelwood which is the administration and training base of London Irish professional and amateur teams. The 63-acre complex has also hosted the Wales, Fiji and New Zealand national rugby teams as well as the New York Jets and Leeds Rhinos.

“A significant development for London GAA ahead of the 2025 season as we now have our first-ever floodlit GAA pitch at The Hazelwood Centre,” the county board proudly stated in a social media post.

“Along with the gym facility, this is now the training base for our senior football and hurling teams which will massively benefit the county.”
