Former Dublin star Jason Sherlock has joined Westmeath’s senior footballers as their new performance coach for the 2023 season.
Formerly a part of Jim Gavin’s backroom team in Dublin, Sherlock had been heavily linked with the vacant Monaghan senior football manager’s job following Seamus McEnaney’s departure from the post.
The 1995 All-Ireland SFC winner withdrew from the Farney County’s managerial race before Vinny Corey was officially ratified.
Sherlock now joins new manager Dessie Dolan’s backroom team, with Westmeath having confirmed him, John Keane, Cathal Mullin, Mick Dillon and Andy Meares on the coaching end.
