Defending champions Ramor United will be looking for their third win on the bounce when they take on Crosserlough in the Cavan senior football championship on Sunday.

The Virginia men have already scored victories over Kingscourt Stars (2-11 to 1-9) and Butlersbridge (0-10 to 0-6) in their pursuit of defending the Oliver Plunkett Cup and are set to face their biggest challenge so far when they meet Crosserlough in Crosskeys.

Champions in 2020, the Kilnaleck men welcomed back former Cavan captain Dara McVeety to the fold earlier this year from a stint away in Australia, as they went on to capture the Division 1 title. Also, in recent weeks, they have saw Cavan star forward Patrick Lynch returning from injury to a team which already possesses county men in towering midfielder James Smith and attacker Stephen Smith.

The last time the two sides clashed in the championship was in the opening round last year when Sean McEvoy’s late free secured a 1-12 to 0-14 win for Ramor on their way to the title.

Throw-in for Sunday’s game at St Matthew’s Park is at 4pm.

Elsewhere, tomorrow (Friday) night will see the clash of Mullahoran and Laragh United at Kingspan Breffni (8pm) while on Saturday it’s Kingscourt Stars versus Lacken in Virginia (5pm) and Gowna against Lavey at Kingspan Breffni (7pm).

Sunday sees unbeaten Cavan Gaels up against struggling Ballinagh in Lacken (2pm) and Killygarry also looking for their third win when they face Butlersbridge at Kingspan Breffni (7pm).
