With no competitive match for more than 700 days, Galway will open the defence of their 2019 All-Ireland minor hurling championship title against Limerick in Ennis on Friday evening.

The Tribesmen have not played since 18 August 2019, when they beat Kilkenny to claim a third consecutive All-Ireland minor title, due to the extended Covid-19 restrictions.

Manager Brian Hanley has been able to call on six of the starting 15 from the decider two years ago for the rescheduled All-Ireland semi-final, orginally set to take place in January.

Galway (All-Ireland MHC 2020 v Limerick): Darragh Walsh; Shane Morgan, Adam Nolan, Michael Walsh; Sean O'Hanlon, Tiernan Killeen, Patrick Burke; Liam Leen, Kieran Hanrahan; Gavin Lee, Ruben Davitt, Ronan Killilea; Liam Collins, Greg Thomas, Colm Molloy.

Subs: Keith Burke, Conor Slattery, Daniel O'Flaherty, Diarmuid Davoren, Tiernan Lee, Darragh Helebert, Sean Fox, Micheal Power, Darren Shaughnessy.
