Eamonn Fitzmaurice is tipping Cork for promotion to Division 1 of the Allianz Football League.
The Rebels have been out of the top flight since 2016, but Fitzmaurice expects them to put that right when they face a struggling Tyrone in Healy Park on Sunday.
"Cork have been out of Division 1 for 10 years so they will be absolutely anxious to get back up there," the former Kerry centre back and manager told the RTÉ GAA podcast.
"They’ve always had a good enough record against Tyrone, the way Tyrone play I think suits Cork.
"They’ll be travelling with expectation and they’ll obviously have the bit between their teeth because the last time they were in Ulster [they suffered a 20-point defeat to Derry in Celtic Park three weeks ago] they would have felt, I imagine within the group, that they let themselves down.
"They'll be really primed to make sure there isn’t a repeat of that.
"They’re in a great position, it’s in their own hands and that’s all they can ask for because after the defeat to Derry and the hole that put in their scoring difference, if Derry had beaten Louth at the weekend, it could have been out of their hands and they could have been looking for results elsewhere.
"It’s a huge opportunity."
