Dublin GAA and LGFA have led the tributes to Frank Brady who passed away on Monday.

The St Anne’s, Bohernabreena clubman was a referee in both codes, being one of the first ladies football match officials in the capital. He was also a match day steward at Croke Park and a referee’s coordinator.

"Dublin GAA is saddened by the recent passing of Frank Brady. Frank was a life-long GAA member and played a big role in the growth of the games across Dublin over many decades,” Dublin GAA said.

"The St. Anne's clubman was Secretary of the Junior Football Board for many years and also served as a selector on the Dublin Junior Football team. A long-time referee himself, Frank later served as Referee’s coordinator - a role he continued until early last year.

"Dublin GAA pass on our deepest condolences to Frank’s family and friends. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam."

Dublin LGFA also extended its condolences to the Brady family.   

"All in Dublin LGFA are saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Frank Brady. Frank was a colossus within Dublin GAA, a true Gael and gent.

"He was amongst the first group of referees to officiate LGFA football in Dublin back in the 80s and was a great supporter of women in sport within the GAA family. Our sincere sympathies go to his beloved family, his many friends in Dublin GAA and indeed all who knew Frank. Our thoughts are also with his club St Annes. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam."
