Carlow football star Jordan Morrissey has been presented with DCU’s highest student award – the Chancellor’s Medal – both for his academic excellence and commitment, and his dedication to non-academic aspects of higher education.

A Sigerson Cup winner with the Dublin University in 2020, Morrissey graduated last Friday with a first-class MEng in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. He also received the Biomedical and Clinical Engineering Association of Ireland Student Researcher of the Year Award in 2020/21, and the Intel Academic Scholarship of 2021/22.

Not content with excellence in the classroom, the high achiever has also captained the DCU Sigerson and Freshers teams as well as his club Éire Óg and Carlow. The midfielder is the holder of four Carlow SFC medals.
