Limerick star Cian Lynch looks to have lost his race to be fit for tomorrow’s All-Ireland senior hurling championship final against Kilkenny.

The 2021 Hurler of the Year suffered an ankle injury in a recent training session and is not named in John Kiely’s 26-man squad for the trip to Croke Park.

Kiely has selected the same starting team which edged out Galway in the semi-finals two weeks’ ago, with Lynch's spot on the bench being taken by Doon's Barry Murphy.

Having struggled with injury problems himself, Murphy has not played for the Treaty men since last year’s All-Ireland final victory over Cork.

Throw-in at headquarters tomorrow at 3.30pm.

Limerick (All-Ireland SHC final v Kilkenny): Nickie Quaid; Sean Finn, Mike Casey, Barry Nash; Diarmaid Byrnes, Declan Hannon, Dan Morrissey; William O'Donoghue, Darragh O'Donovan; Gearoid Hegarty, Kyle Hayes, Tom Morrissey; Aaron Gillane, Seamus Flanagan, Graeme Mulcahy.

Subs: Barry Hennessy, Conor Boylan, Peter Casey, Aaron Costello, Colin Coughlan, Richie English, Robbie Hanley, Barry Murphy, Cathal O'Neill, Oisin O'Reilly, David Reidy.
