A GAA club in the midlands has expressed its disappointment with the theft of flags in the area following Westmeath’s stunning Leinster SFC triumph.
The celebrations following the Lake County’s extra-time victory over Dublin were soured somewhat in Rosemount – the club of injured defender Boidu Sayeh – by the disappearance of maroon and white flags from several houses and premises. And it would appear that the chief suspects are from nearby Offaly!
“Please note, there has been a number of robberies in the Kilcatherine/Larragh/Brocca area,” Rosemount GAA said in a Facebook post.
“A large number of Westmeath flags were taken from the poles outside houses overnight. We’d like to inform those from across the border that if you want a Westmeath flag so much you can purchase them through the following link: https://flagman.ie/product/westmeath-gaa-flag/.”
