Six-time All-Ireland winner Paul Flynn is predicting Sligo to tear up the script against Down in Sunday’s second Tailteann Cup semi-final at Croke Park (4pm).

The Yeats men cruised past Limerick in the quarter-finals with a 2-20 to 0-9 victory at Markievicz Park, but are currently 11/4 underdogs against Down (2/5) who also saw off Wicklow last Saturday at home in convincing fashion.

Writing in his RTE Sport prediction column for this weekend’s knock-out football clashes, Flynn wrote that he sees the one upset coming at Croker on Sunday.

“In Down versus Sligo, I would tip an upset,” the former Dublin star wrote.

“Down are very motivated to win this competition after last year, they're very keen to get back up to Sam Maguire.

“But Sligo have been going very well under Tony McEntee. They're very solid defensively and they've been racking up big scores. I would tip an upset there.”
