Meath football manager Andy McEntee has committed to running a 10k for ten consecutive days as part of the fundraiser for Eimear Murray who is recovering from Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
The Boardmsill and Meath footballer, who is the daughter of Meath Ladies manager Eamon Murray, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma last Autumn, just weeks after playing for her club in the Meath Ladies JFC final.
Eimear’s treatment which continued for months necessitated prolonged stays in hospital while undergoing 24 hours a day chemo for five days a week.
@MeathGAA Manager Andy McEntee is doing his own fundraiser to show his support to Eimear and the #CycleforEimear Crew. He's going to run 10km in 10 days for the cause!! To donate go to https://t.co/1tsDLSl7kx

Thankfully Eimear is now on the long road to recovery and the fundraiser is to help ease the financial burden of having to undergo this treatment and also to raise funds for the Oncology and Haematology Ward in the Mater Hospital.
The Cycle for Eimear will see a Static Cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head on Sunday 2nd May 2021 in three different locations and already nearly €20,000 has been raised.
