"From Sydney to Shandonagh, Dubai to Delvin and the Bronx to Ballynacarrigy," Westmeath GAA supporters have been clocking up 1,000s of miles worldwide in an effort to raise funds for the county's football, hurling, ladies and camogie teams.
Westmeath players have organised an exciting fitness challenge, asking supporters to sign up to walking, running, cycling or swimming whatever distance in line with Government guidance for the Westmeath Movathon Lake County Challenge, from March 1 to Easter Monday, April 4.
There has been a fantastic response to the challenge so far with over €5,000 raised from 54 donors in 6 days. This will help Westmeath teams of all codes to prepare for the 2021 season, and with essential refurbishment works to the county grounds at TEG Cusack Park.
We call on all Westmeath Gaels, at home and abroad, to take part in our Lake County Movathon challenge to help raise vital funds (for all our county teams and to help in the refurbishment of TEG Cusack Park) and to also improve our physical and mental state.#lakecountychallenge pic.twitter.com/TC5PAhe6HG
