Former Laois footballer Greg Ramsbottom has been appointed manager of Dublin giants Ballymun Kickhams.

The Stradbally native, who played in the O'Moore County's 1998 All-Ireland U21FC final defeat to Kerry before going on to represent the county at senior level, replaces Kevin Leahy in the role. He continued playing up until last year when he won a Kelly Cup medal with Stradbally at the age of 46, and also managed the club in 2020 and '21.

“We are thrilled to announce that Greg Ramsbottom has been appointed as our new senior men’s team manager," Ballymun Kickhams said in a Facebook post.

“Greg brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a winning spirit to lead our team to new heights.

“Welcome aboard, Greg! Join us in extending a warm welcome to Greg as he takes on this pivotal role in shaping the future of our senior men’s team.”

Ballymun reached the Dublin SFC quarter-finals last year, only to come up short against Kilmacud Crokes.
