Stick Dublin or Kerry in Ulster and give them Fermanaghs potential route to the last 8 this year (Tyrone, Monaghan, Derry) and I'll tell you one thing Dublin and Kerry wouldn't have as many All Irelands as they have.

Ask the players in Down if they would want him there, think they would. On a side note, it's not just defensive stability he would bring, we weren't too bad attacking either.

The advantage is with the teams who can aim to peak 4/5 weeks later than the rest. Ie. Dublin. Can someone tell me with a straight face that Dessie F isn't planning on Tyrone /Donegal semi already. Why would he not be ? While Tyone/Dgal/Mon etc sludge through Ulster knocking lumps out of each other. Don't give me the talk about Dublin not being game tested or ready for the intensity of the Ulster winner either. Kerry won many Sam playing Waterford and Limerick with all due respect

Mayo losing 3 times in the championship. Surprised they don't get a 4th bite at it!!!! Shows that the scoreline was always going to be that, this wasn't a great mayo team like 17, it was always going to end this way.

Positives first. Thought Mc Cole did well and Mc Fadden Ferry offers a lot on the ball. Ethan did well when introduced also. Our tackling looked good, for the first time in a while we are forcing turnovers/getting contact and winning the ball and breaking. Jason had a solid game. Looks to be going more direct with ball in hand. Good to see Daire O Baoill back also and young Doherty from N. Columba get a game. Areas of concern. Injuries. How many injuries do we have? Langan, Mc Gonagle, Mc Fadden, Niall, Mc Gee. Gallan and Mark Curran pulled up in the warm up also, Thompson again will be out for a while.. Then add the players who aren't and will struggle big time be up to full match fitness in time for championship.. Murphy, Brennan, Daire O B, Mc Menamin while back is still struggling fitness wise. Then the lads missing today. Shane O Donnell, Jack Mc Kelvey.. Jesus we are in a huge mess. It's fine having players "back" but when they don't do pre season or miss a large chunk of game time, it's basically their season over. They can't get up to full speed. When teams give us the short kickout we seem to struggle a lot. We nearly prefer teams pushing up on our kickouts so Patton can come in to play. Cavan let us win our own short in the Ulster Final and we struggled badly. The form of Ryan Mc Hugh. Needs his confidence back. It's a worry. We look okay at the back but at what cost? Our attacking shape seems to have vanished? Albeit hard to read too much into it since we are missing so many.

Watched ye in the Mc Kenna cup final vs our reserve team and was worried for you. We sprung 4 starters from the bench and the game was back in the melting pot. Banty hugging his management team after the final whistle said it all. A once solid side, seems to be no more. Sad to see.
