Mayo's historic 2026 season received further recognition at the PwC GAA/GPA All-Star Awards, with Ryan O'Donoghue named Footballer of the Year and Darragh Beirne crowned Young Footballer of the Year.

Belmullet's O'Donoghue enjoyed an outstanding championship campaign, finishing with an impressive 2-56 across eight appearances. The Mayo attacker was instrumental in his side's All-Ireland success, producing a 'Man of the Match' performance in the final victory over Kerry in July.

Claremorris forward Beirne was rewarded for a superb breakthrough season, establishing himself as one of Mayo's key attacking players. He finished the championship with an impressive 3-18, underlining his importance to the county's march to the Sam Maguire.

There was further cause for celebration for Mayo, with six players selected on the All-Star team. Kobe McDonald, Jack Carney, Enda Hession and Sam Callinan joined O'Donoghue and Beirne in receiving recognition for their performances throughout the season.

For Beirne, McDonald, Carney, Hession and Callinan, it was a first All-Star award, while O'Donoghue added a second to his collection.

It was a memorable night for Mayo football, with the county's long-awaited All-Ireland triumph receiving more fitting rewards and two of its standout performers collecting some of the game's most prestigious individual honours.
