Clonmel Commercials claimed their 22nd Tipperary senior football championship title this afternoon by crushing Kilsheelan-Kilcash with a 1-26 to 1-5 victory at Semple Stadium.
Tom Morrissey’s side recovered from the concession of a ninth minute goal to boss their opponents in this one, sending over scores via Cian Smith and Peter McGarry (two-pointer) to level by the quarter hour mark and they’d never look back once Jack Kennedy shot them back in front in the 20th minute.
Seanie O’Connor, Kennedy (2) and Ross Peters raised white flags that had Commercials up by 0-10 to 1-4 at the break and Thomas Charles and O’Connor would add points early in resumption before Michael Quinlivan hit the Kilsheelan-Kilcash net.
WHAT A GOAL, MICHAEL QUINLIVAN! 🤩@CommercialsGAA's main man shows his full skillset as he carves through the defence and finishes magnificently! 👏

The 2016 All-Star winner raced through and fired in a superb finish in the 38th minute, putting his side into a nine-point lead, and a two-pointer from Kennedy would be backed up by further scores from O’Connor (2) and Smith as the one-way traffic continued in Thurles.
It’d be a day to forget for Kilsheelan-Kilcash, with their last score of the game coming from a free in the 43rd minute, as Commercials powered to a 21-point win in the end.
In what is their third county SFC triumph in four years, Commercials now surpass Fethard at the top of the roll of honour list in the Premier County with their 22nd win in the competition overall.
