Jim McGuinness has all but ruled Eoghan ‘Ban’ Gallagher out of Donegal’s opening Ulster SFC defence against Derry on Sunday week.
The highly-rated defender missed yesterday’s Allianz League final round defeat to Mayo in Castlebar with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to make it back in time for the local derby.
“He has picked up a knock and he probably won’t be available for Derry,” the Donegal manager informed reporters.
“He will be a couple of weeks after that. It’s not as bad as we expected it to be actually. We got a bit of a scare with him and he will continue with his rehab.”
