Kerry manager Jack O’Connor expects a “ferocious battle” when his side meet Cork in the second round of the All-Ireland SFC group stages this weekend.

The Kingdom are looking to make it back-to-back wins in Group 2 after having comfortably defeated Roscommon by 3-18 to 0-17 in Tralee last time out.

Saturday sees the Munster champions heading for SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh (throw-in 4.45pm) looking for their second win over the Rebels in five weeks, having squeezed through against John Cleary’s side at the same venue after extra time last month.

“Look, we know what we’re going to get from Cork,” O’Connor is quoted saying by EchoLive.ie

“We got it a couple of weeks ago. Another massive, ferocious battle is ahead. At least everyone knows now we will have a battle down in Cork.

“Let’s see who will improve the most from the last game, which I must say I thoroughly enjoyed. I am hoping a good Kerry crowd will travel up again because those who went last time certainly got value for their twenty quid, maybe the best few bob that they will spend this year.”
