This evening’s Cavan senior football championship third-round clash between Ballyhaise and Ramor United has been switched from Kingspan Breffni to Our Lady of Lourdes Park in Mullahoran (8pm).

The move comes after what the county board described as “a major incident” overnight at the Cavan Town venue, where it’s understood a fire broke out in the kitchen area of the stadium.

Northern Sound Radio reports that fire crews attended the blaze at 12.15am this morning and that it was extinguished and contained to the kitchen area.

Cavan GAA posted this afternoon to confirm that nobody was injured in the incident and that the county ground is now out of commission for the weekend.

As a result, the five SFC third-round matches scheduled for Kingspan Breffni over the coming days are set to be staged at alternative venues around the county.
