Armagh's All-Ireland SFC winning forward Stefan Campbell has announced his inter-county retirement.

Affectionately known as 'Soupy', the Clan na Gael man will always hold a special place in the hearts of Armagh fans after he came off the bench to set up Aaron McKay's second half goal in last year's All-Ireland final victory over Galway. Indeed, he often found himself in the 'super-sub' role in recent seasons.

Campbell was first called up to the Orchard County panel in 2011 before making his Championship debut two years later. He stepped away from the panel for a year before returning in 2019. His last appearance for Kieran McGeeney's men came as a substitute in this year's All-Ireland SFC round-robin defeat to Galway. He missed Armagh's subsequent All-Ireland SFC quarter-final loss to Kerry with an arm injuury.

Also a talented soccer player, the 34-year-old recently signed up for a fourth spell with Mid-Ulster Football League side, Lurgan Celtic.
