Rocco Quigley scored this goal for the ages as Oylegate-Glenbrien captured the Wexford U14 Division 1 County Cup with victory over St Anne's in Ferns last Sunday.
There were shades of Ciaran Carey's famous winning point for Limerick against Clare in the 1996 Munster SHC when the captain and centre back ran onto a loose ball in his half back line and soloed the length of field before blasting home from 20 metres.
Admittedly, the rising star took a generous amount of steps before shooting, but his skill and execution were still something to behold as Oylegate-Glenbrien completed an U14 hurling and football championship double.
TweetGoal of the year scored by team captain Rocco Quigley in the U14 Division 1 Cup hurling final yesterday. Catch on the opposition 45m line, solo to inside his own 21m line, finishing with a bullet strike into the roof of the net. Incredible technique.🙌🏻🔵⚪️ @OfficialWexGAA pic.twitter.com/M6nQ9qhOgf
