Goals from Walter Walsh and Martin Keoghan saw Kilkenny cruise to a 2-23 to 0-16 win over Dublin in this evening’s Allianz Hurling League clash at Parnell Park.
The Cats controlled this contest from early on and it helped them go in at half-time leading by 0-11 to 0-5 after a relatively flat opening 35 minutes from the hosts.
A couple of Donal Burke frees narrowed the deficit down for Mattie Kenny’s men early in the restart, but their good work would be wiped away in an instant when Walsh hammered to the net in the 43rd minute.
Some seven minutes later and the sliotar would be in the capital men’s net again – this time Keoghan provided the neat finish off a pass from John Donnelly.
There was no coming back for Dublin from there as Kilkenny kicked on for a third win in Division 1 Group B while condemning their opponents to a first defeat of the campaign.
