Paudie Clifford expects the atrocious weather conditions in which Kerry's last two Allianz Football League games were played to stand to them.

High winds and driving rain dominated the wins over Dublin and Donegal in Tralee and Killarney respectively. The Kingdom are hoping to maintain winning ways against Monaghan in Inniskeen on Sunday, and speaking to RTÉ at yesterday's launch of the Comórtas Peile Páidi Ó Sé, which also takes place this weekend, the All-Star forward admitted: "It was very tough [against Donegal].

"You wouldn't mind the rain as much but the wind was crazy. Into the wind it was tough to solo. With the wind, it obviously helps when you're kicking points but when the ball is sent into you it comes at you like a rocket. I suppose those kind of battles make the team stronger.

"We're just looking forward to another challenge. It's going to bring the team on.

"I suppose you are judged on winning All-Irelands [in Kerry], but we're trying to shut that out as much as we can. Plenty of people in Kerry bring you back down to earth! But there's plenty of support as well."
