GAA president Larry McCarthy was in Ruislip at the weekend to unveil commemorative plaques to Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy as part of London GAA's 125th anniversary celebrations.
Both men, after whom the All-Ireland senior football and hurling championship cups are named, served as chairperson of London GAA in its early years, and members of their families were present at the unveiling ceremony at McGovern Park.
It was followed by a weekend-long schedule of games and a Gala Dinner Dance as the GAA in the English capital celebrated the milestone in style.
