Eight-time All-Ireland winner Eddie Brennan has joined the Westmeath senior hurling management team for the 2027 season.

Westmeath manager Kevin O’Brien has added the Kilkenny great to his backroom staff as the Lake County look to return to the Leinster championship through the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Brennan, who was part of Derek Lyng’s Kilkenny management team last season, brings considerable experience to the set-up, having previously guided Laois to Joe McDonagh Cup success in 2019.

He will work alongside coach Adrian Clancy of Offaly, while Rory Fleming and Kevin O’Brien will take on strength and conditioning duties.

Westmeath will be hoping the new additions can help them make progress in 2027 as they aim to secure a return to the Leinster senior hurling championship.
