Frank Flannery has joined Cork hurling giants Midleton as a coach for the coming season.

The former Cork and Wexford coach will assist Micheál Keohane, who has been handed a third season as manager. Liam Walsh will also be part of the management after Alwyn Kearney and Padraig O’Shea stepped down as selectors.

Flannery, who managed his native Carrigtwohill to a Cork SHC ‘A’ semi-final against Newcestown in 2023, will hope to give Midleton that little bit extra after they lost last year’s PSHC semi-final to All-Ireland club finalists Sarsfields by a point.
