Rhode's Jake Kavanagh and Ratoath manager David Brady exchange words during the closing stages of the Leinster Club SFC quarter final at Pairc Tailteann

Former Mayo midfielder David Brady has stepped down from his post as Ratoath senior football manager.

Brady steered Ratoath to the Meath senior football championship title a little over two months ago when they defeated Summerhill by 0-12 to 0-11 in Navan.

It was the club’s third Keegan Cup success in four seasons and they’d go on to reach the semi-finals of the Leinster club SFC before losing out to The Downs of Westmeath at Croke Park.

Ratoath GAA confirmed Brady’s departure on social media last night, stating that the Ballina native is “taking up a new position in his professional life” which prevents him to committing to another year in charge.
