This is going a hard hitting test of strength especially at the back. Terry has gone for size and I think it looks awesome. As sean rightly pointed out it will be the bench that will win it and don't be afraid to bring them in early. Us by 2.. ponger (Cavan) - Posts: 544 - 29/05/2016 11:35:18 1859665 Link 0 |
Best of luck today lads,, my fear is with the line out of the team terry will revert back to the style of play he thinks works , hopefully not and the ball is moved fast into the forwards, ! goonie (Cavan) - Posts: 308 - 29/05/2016 14:10:01 1859702 Link 0 |
Big game big crowed excellent day for all Cavan supporters and an excellent result. Now let's work towards our next goal Tyrone. One game at a time it's the way to go. The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4601 - 29/05/2016 17:19:03 1859749 Link 0 |
Congrats to all great day. Martin Reilly was immense. Listened to Seanies interview , he's right we have work to do to beat Tyrone but I believe they'll do it. shannon414 (Cavan) - Posts: 228 - 29/05/2016 18:43:21 1859777 Link 1 |
Well done, controlled the game. Ray Galligan is a great addition in nets. Kickouts are excellent, very comfortable under the high ball (bar the error in first half) and communicates well with the defence. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2824 - 29/05/2016 19:38:16 1859787 Link 0 |
Great to win today BUT we have a lot of work to do before we play Tyrone. Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 29/05/2016 20:08:12 1859797 Link 0 |
Agree Martin Reilly MOTM for me brilliant throughout the game. Gearoid brilliant first half. Johnston also very good with some good play from Mackey and McVeety. Galligan great game in goals brilliant kickouts and confident under a highball. Tyrone a big step up. Jim_Shorts (Cavan) - Posts: 96 - 29/05/2016 20:39:02 1859811 Link 0 |
Congrats to the team and management, great to get the win , we should learn to be ruthless when we had them on the ropes blueman1903 (Cavan) - Posts: 885 - 29/05/2016 20:52:20 1859816 Link 0 |
Great win. Congrats to all. Martin Reilly was immense. Gearoid and Johnston in the first half and great to see Mackey is back to where he was three years ago. Don't really want to pick anyone in particular out. Again well done lads. Joebe (Cavan) - Posts: 76 - 29/05/2016 21:28:06 1859831 Link 0 |

The head is bursted on me, what a day, I shouldn't have doubted TH and his ability to manage the team and their expectations. foxes_denn (Cavan) - Posts: 129 - 30/05/2016 08:52:26 1859850 Link 0 |
A win against Armagh in the Ulster Championship is a good day at the office, thought Cavan looked sharp. Tyrone will be looking forward to what will be a stern test in the semi. cacsmckilly (Tyrone) - Posts: 1294 - 30/05/2016 10:26:53 1859875 Link 0 |
Learning to play as favourites, learning to win as favourites. The next game will define our year and show us how far the team has progressed over the past couple of years. You learn more from a win than a loss so hopefully we can turn Tyrone over in three weeks time.

I hope you don't lol, if you do turn Tyrone over, you'll be the first team to do so this year, though that said we haven't played a lot in terems of opposition so far. Its not impossible but really is Cavan at that level yet? I think my county is a top 5 team in Ireland, up there with Dublin, Mayo, Monaghan, Kerry. If you do win it will be a major upset but certainly not impossible. cacsmckilly (Tyrone) - Posts: 1294 - 30/05/2016 11:22:21 1859893 Link 0 |

Great to get the win but don't lets get ahead of ourselves. Stefan Campbell did a lot of harm with not a lot of good ball - surprised they didn't move Rory onto him. Killian Clarke seems to lose concentration at times and then gives away silly frees - can't do this in the full-back line against better opposition. Ciaran Brady must wonder what he needs to do to start. Argue was disappointing again - never got going. opa01 (Cavan) - Posts: 505 - 30/05/2016 12:36:25 1859926 Link 0 |
Don't think the Armagh penalty was going to make a big difference. They never looked like winning the game. Cavan scored a point right after that. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2824 - 30/05/2016 14:02:45 1859955 Link 0 |

FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts:1359 - 30/05/2016 14:02:45 1859955 I feel your assumption is wrong Foolsgold ?had he scored that penalty it was a 3 point game from a nine point game and at that moment the momentum was swinging Armagh's way. We don't know what would have happened for there would not have been a break up the pitch for starters. No matter a win is a win and long may they continue. It gives a great feel good factor. I didn't see enough hunger in the Armagh team. They might have got back to 3 had they scored but Cavan looked like they could go up a gear if needed to be. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2824 - 30/05/2016 16:30:43 1860038 Link 0 |
