Replying To Loughduff Lad:  "No, during the draw it said first team out is at home. They can't change that to neutral now. What they said after the draw that they would be confirming the venues and times, which is saying Breffni is a formality for us, just the time to be sorted."
Correct. It was clearly stated before the draw that the first team out of bowl 3 was the home team. The only exception would have been if we had been drawn out first against Monaghan, then Monaghan would have had home advantage (being the winner of the earlier meeting).

So it's definitely in Kingspan Breffini (unless we forfeit home advantage for some reason).

If we beat Tipperary who can we meet in the following round?

Folks

Home advantage is no advantage to our boys, would be just as happy to have the game played in Thurles.

All the winners from todays draw to narrow it down to two to play provincial losers.

I think the round 3 matches involve the round 2 winners so they play each other but still in the B side then the round 3 winners face provincial losers (not sure which ones) but we have to get over Tipp first and that's no easy match ...

Just saw this elsewhere and a nice run if we're good enough --

Round 2 = Tipp at home
Round 3 = Winner from Leitrim/Carlow or Armagh/Westmeath
Round 4 = Loser of Ulster or Leinster final (likely Down or Kildare)

Could be double header in tullamore or portlaoise along with Monaghan or leitrim game."
Don't know how you worked that out ?

I think they'll be in the other side of the draw.

He probably didn't want to mention the neighbours, twice in one year is enough to look at them!

Not the hardest route to an all ireland quarter final if the lads are hungry enough for it - the game yesterday lacked championship intensity, hopefully we have something in reserve and while I never felt we would be beaten yesterday, that defensive display will not be good enough against the Tipp forwards ... plenty to work on.

Hi Guys.. Not bad to get a win in Tullamore. Last competitive win was recorded on the 19th March-17 against Mayo. It was pretty poor to watch that standard of a game last nite. What has McGleenan got going for him in relation to a game Plan? Some of the decision making on the line was beyond belief. I don't buy into that this was a hangover from the Monaghan result. I firmly believe that as a Cavan follower the book has stop with the manager. Will we loose a couple of more players from the Offaly game? It was good to see a number of ex-players that was recently on the panel sitting out front in the stand area. Why or what has happened to these guys? Tipperary will be a different opposition... Lets hope we can get over this one......

Replying To cavanman47:  "I think McKiernan needs to be moved to the 40. He's so dangerous going forward and is non existent defensively. Was standing with his hands on his hips as offaly ran up the field yesterday.
2 from Buchanan Corr and Galligan need to start in midfield.
Clerkin to make way in the forwards and mcvitty to wear 13 and move between half and full forward lines."
We can see that unfortunately our line can't , I can't understand the manager persisting with Clerkin, look the guy gives it his best but it's just not happening for him, 1 point from 9 or 10 games isn't good enough for a forward . I heard that he is the fittest at training and best runner , that would good if it was an athlete team instead of a football team we had

I thought the CB had made the right decision when they appointed McGleenan after Hyland vacated the post but I'm not so sure now.... He said after the game that his young lad told him how to get over Offaly... I know he was jokeing with this comment but some of his selections and changes are mind boggling ... I know everybody is on young Clerkins back but surely Mattie should have him out of the side at this stage as 1pt in 9 starts is simply not good enough...

Tough game next against Tipp. It's winnable and I know there's a lot of talk about Tipp being down players from last year but any team that has Quinlivan and Sweeney in their full forward line will be a very dangerous prospect, especially when our own forwards are hit and miss. To me it's 50:50. On that note anybody else very surprised on the odds offered by BoyleSports. 11/4 on a Tipp win looks like serious serious value. 2/1 on Leitrim and 9/4 on Westmeath don't look bad either.

Apparently we can't play them again in R.3.
This was the only round we could have got them.

did quinliven not do his cruciate in the Cork game. I know he went off on a stretcher. Not wishing the lad harm at all, he is a fantastic player but I rhought it was a bad injury

Take in the statt's what is his work rate does he never get the ball if yes does he lay it of lose it or what. That lad must be doing something right for the management to be persisting with him. To be honest questions need to be asked about more players but no one is asking I wonder why. Look I don't care what anyone say's we played a junior team that were unlucky not to beat Westmeath and look at what Dublin did to Westmeath. If Cavan could not beat Offaly we would have been the laughing stock of the Country now here I see posters saying Cavan V Tipp is a 50-50 game. Cavan should hammer Tipp and not struggle to beat them.
Come on let's be honest if we think we have a divine right to be in division 1 well we should not be worried about the likes of Tipp Offaly Westmeath Waterford Clare Wexford Leitrim Sligo Limerick Fermanagh the list can go on ect. Select our best team and we will win no problems if we lose some serious questions will have to be asked off everyone from the players right up the ladder.
