Tremendous shock, grief and regret were occasioned in the parish of Denn by the sudden, unexpected death of Shane Cahill from Drumavaddy. Only 30 years of age at the time of his passing, Shane was an outstanding footballer who captained the U12 team whilst still a pupil at Crosskeys NS. A great GAA supporter, he was also a keen hunter. Guards of Honour were formed by Denn Gun Club and Denn GFC.
