Formerly of Ballytrust, Vivion McEvoy had two great interests as a young man - politics and football. He was Lacken goalkeeper for a number of years and also lined out in defence before serving as a referee. He became club chairman in 1959 when the club was reformed and also held that position for several years in the late 1960s. Outside the club, Vivion was a great supporter of Cavan and he was enlisted as a county selector in 1973.Vivion donated a beautiful Cup to the club which is presented to juveniles each year and he also had a spell as vice-chairman of Lacken Handball Club A Guard of Honour was provided by friends from Lacken GFC, Fianna Fail and Cavan Hospital.
