McKenna, Eileen

Profound sadness was caused by the passing on October 29th, 2010 of Mrs Eileen McKenna (nee Quinn) of Mount St Joseph's, Kingscourt. Formerly of Oranmore, Galway, Eileen had lived in Kingscourt for 35 years. She played camogie at Croke Park on the Oranmore Calasancius College team. Indeed, Eileen's late father - Dick Quinn - represented Oranmore and Galway in hurling, also playing at Croke Park - against Dublin in 1949. After moving to Kingscourt, Eileen never lost her love of gaelic games and she was a great supporter of both the Stars and Cavan.
