Deacon Damien Kivlehan moved into the Cootehill area in 1974, one year after marrying his wife Margaret and became a very prominent member of the community. A native of Co Sligo, he served as an underage coach for Cootehill Celtic during the late 1980s and was a committee member of the club during the 1990s. He was also a Registar with the club and a fundraiser for Cootehill Harps FC. His passing in February was met with great sadness in the community and condolences were offered to his family.
