Cahill, Philip


Phil died on February 12th in Dundrum, Co Dublin at the age of 93 and had been a native of Maghera, Co Cavan. Gaelic football was in is blood, having watched the Cavan team in their heyday. He had been a great footballer himself. His brilliant leaping ability had earned him the nickname 'Springer', standing at just 5'6''. His father Matthew also played for Maghera, while his uncles Mickie and Ft Tim donned the black and blue as well as the blue and white for Cavan.
