There was great shock and sadness throughout the entire Denn parish in June following the sudden death of Paul Courtney. A man with a farming occupation, his interests varied and he was proud to see his son Conor become part of the Denn minor team as their regular between the posts. Paul's funeral saw Denn GFC and St Patrick's College Cavan both forming a Guard of Honour as a mark of respect.
