Reilly, Paddy

Paddy Reilly passed away on April 26th, after a long illness, and his death was felt by so many in his native Redhills. After emigrating to Birmingham in the 1950s, he became a founding member of the Sean McDiarmada GAA club there and by 1960 he had met and married his wife Sally. They had four children and moved back to Ireland in the early 1970s, with Paddy taking ownership of the Leggykelly Inn. He continued to be a life-long supporter of the local Redhills club, becoming involved in the redevelopment of Max McGrath Park during the 1980s. Both Redhills and Sean McDiarmada formed a Guard of Honour at his funeral in St Brigid's Church as a mark of respect.
