There was much sadness in the Gowna GAA club and the local communityaw when Rose Anne 'Odie' Halton (née Shiels) of Fairview, The Rocks, Loch Gowna passed away on Monday, January 23rd, 2017. Rose was the mother of assistant club treasurer Seamus Halton and grandmother of senior players Damien and Conor Halton. She had a tremendous interest in the GAA and this was reflected in the number of members and supporters of the club who formed a Guard of Honour for her removal.
