Ger Brennan isn’t anticipating any Dublin football retirements outside of Ciarán Kilkenny ahead of 2027.

Eight-time Sam Maguire Cup winner Kilkenny bowed out after last July’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final loss to Kerry, with the Dublin manager expecting everyone else to return for the new campaign.

“There is nobody other than Ciarán Kilkenny, who we know about stepping away,” Brennan told balls.ie ahead of next Wednesday’s Focus Ireland charity match between Dublin and Meath at Parnell Park (throw-in 7pm).

“There’s certainly a couple of fellas with niggles that want to stay and play, and hopefully those niggles will settle down for them and we’ll see them in 2027. But everyone has committed to 2027 from last year’s team.”

Brennan also addressed reports that rising star Charlie McMorrow has attracted the interest of AFL club Richmond, saying he would advise any young GAA player to stick with their club and county.

“I would be encouraging all of our homegrown talent to stay and push hard for their respective clubs and inter-county teams, that the reward would be far deeper and far more meaningful compared to what they might earn over in Australia,” he added.
